“The Queen of Camouflage” ~ Judith August

About the Author: excerpt from Gotcha Covered ~ The Compact Guide To Camouflage Makeup”:

Judith August began freelancing with a modeling agency in Los Angeles. Her big break came when she was chosen to be the “May Company Girl” –representing the huge department store chain. As the face of their store she gained a lot of visibility, and the opportunity to learn from other models about the incredible things one could do with makeup.

Judith-photoMakeup became August’s professional weapon! She learned to camouflage her ‘flaw’ so well for the camera that she wouldn’t let another makeup artist touch her.
For many years, she continued this “big cover-up” ritual until she turned 35, and opted for cosmetic surgery. From this experience she gained more insight and knowledge about skin care, cosmetic options and camouflage makeup. Between assignments, during her 15-year modeling career – through marriage and having a family – August was intent on learning everything about the cosmetic industry from her mentor, Aida Grey, the “cosmetics guru” of Beverly Hills. She became a speaker on the subject of image and cosmetic enhancement to corporations, beauty spas, and all types of women’s organizations.

Her focus on cosmetics camouflage led August to develop many professional contacts among plastic surgeons. This is where her first concealer product “The Everything Pencil” was born. It met a real need. It covered up everything!
With input from her doctor friends, the formula was perfected and August began marketing her product. Sales took off immediately, as well as her reputation for her expertise with corrective cosmetics. She has been dubbed “The Queen of Camouflage”.

Today, after 20 years, her specialized line of corrective cosmetics are recommended by skin care professionals nationwide, and can be found in doctor’s offices, salons,
spas, as well as catalogs and her own website www.judithaugustcosmetics.com.

She lives in Las Vegas with her husband George and Lola “the wonder dog”.
